Neocore Bluetooth Speakers "Review"

As well as having a fairly successful range of tablet computers for sale in the UK, as I'm sure you are aware, Neocore also produce a very good selection of Bluetooth Speakers. What's more surprising, is that due to the reviews being excellent for each speaker, it makes it hard to choose one. That goes for some other wireless speaker brands, too, such as Anker, Cambridge, Tribit and Betron. Their high review scores are evenly matched. I have actually just bought the Betron D51 and its been very good so far.

When choosing a Bluetooth speaker, due to how even the review scores are, I suppose it comes down to certain specific, stand-out features that an individual wants or needs more of in a wireless speaker than others. Things such as bass, maximum wattage, pairing strength, battery life etc. Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick rundown of the Neocore speaker range and write a brief description of specification and features for each model.

Neocore Wave A1

With an output of 10 Watts (5x2 Watts), I believe this is the lowest in terms of Wattage from the whole Neocore speaker range. Although it is still reported as being pretty loud for its size, and having good quality stereo sound by users. It features 2 drivers and a subwoofer.

Battery duration is reported as being capable of lasting up to a whole day (playing music) from one full charge. The Bluetooth connection distance is twenty meters maximum. The A1 also features a Micro SD card slot, 3.5 mm headphone jack (AUX-wired option available), water resistance and Echo dot compatibility. This model is available in black or white. A 24 month warranty is included. You can buy the A1 from Amazon and the official Neocore website.

Neocore WAVE A2

Neocore_WAVE_A2

The same speaker set-up as the A1, with two drivers and a subwoofer (can be used wireless or wired). Bluetooth range is also the same as the A1 @ 20 meters. However, the shape of the unit is very different to the A1.

The A2 is louder than the A1 at 16 Watts, and sports an even longer battery life. Built-in microphone, bass and treble adjustment, and a very up-to-date Bluetooth 4.2 are all features built into the A2. It's also waterproof. Check out the full specification of the A2 here.

Neocore WAVE A3.60

WAVE-A3-60

Again, like the A1 and A2, this model [full review] also has two drivers (speakers) and an internal subwoofer. But this one is the loudest packing 20 watts (10 watts x2). Bluetooth range is the same as the other models @ 20 meters max. Battery duration is excellent, lasting well over a full day of playing music continuously at a reasonable volume. It also has an SD memory card slot and comes with a 2-year warranty like the rest.Available in silver or black.

Neocore WAVE P3

P3_Speaker_With_Radio_Function

The P3 is finished with brushed gold aluminium and is most probably the nicest, or most different looking out of all the Neocore speakers. It comes with an almost identical set of standard features that the other speakers have. Such as, wired or wireless use (Bluetooth 4.0), SD slot, up to a day's battery life, etc. Although with the P3 the Bluetooth range is only 10 meters, and the maximum output is 10 watts.

However, it is waterproof to the IPX5 standard, and has a built-in FM Radio. It's also extremely thin @ approximately one inch, making it very portable. This model is hard to find for sale now.

The big boy out of the bunch. Packing a massive 50 watts into 4 speakers and 2 subwoofers, this is the most powerful. Battery life understandably doesn't last as long as the rest due to the higher power consumption. But 13 hours is still a respectable amount of time for such a powerful little speaker. Bluetooth connection is 66 feet (ca. 20 metres) max.

Other features include: Wired / wireless, SD slot (Micro), Bluetooth 4.2, internal microphone, USB for computer connection / charging the internal battery and headphone connection (auxiliary). More information on the A4 can be found here [Full A4 review].

JBL Charge 2 Battery - Replacement Buy Online

JBL Charge 2 / Charge 2+ [Plus] Battery - Replacement Buy Online. Great speakers, although can suffer from battery problems. If you are experiencing this bad battery problem (not charging, losing power really fast etc), rather than buy a new speaker you may want to purchase a replacement battery and fit / repair it yourself.

It's not that hard to complete the process of fitting a new battery. Please see the video below for instuctions on how to achieve this. Please note: There are a lot of fake JBL speakers out there, so if you have bought a "JBL" bluetooth speaker for a very cheap price, it may be fake. If that is the case, and the battery has failed, the tutorial video below probably won't be of much help. However, it will still provide a general guide to get you started.

Once the new battery is fitted successfully the speaker should be back to full performance. Reviews from people who have carried out this process report a high fix rate. Just be careful with what battery you buy, as some have better reviews than others. The one linked to above has one of the highest review scores on Amazon and has a long warranty.

Neocore Wave A1 Speaker Review

If I'm not mistaken, the Neocore Wave A1 is one of the smallest and most portable speakers in the Neocore product range. The Tsunami A4 is the biggest. Reviewed here: https://speakerzap.blogspot.com/2020/05/neocore-wave-a4-tsunami-50w-review.html Packing a huge 4.8 out of five stars review score on Amazon, it has certainly impressed the large majority of buyers. Like the Wave A2, the A1 is also waterproof. The maximum output is 10 watts.

Neocore_WAVE_A1_Black_For_Sale_UK

Speaker set-up consists of 2 driver speakers and a subwoofer. Ten Watts sounds quite low in the grand scheme of things volume related, but believe me, for its size the A1 is loud. And the clarity and overall sound quality is very good considering the price and size of the speaker.

The battery life is fairly good offering up to 1 day of playtime. I say fairly good because batter life in Bluetooth speakers is ever-evolving, and the durations are getting longer and longer. For a closer look at the A1, take a look at the hands-on review video below, which also gives a quick explanation on how to use buttons and functions.

The wireless strength of the Bluetooth is this device is twenty meters maximum. The micro SD card slot has been one of the features buyers love about this little speaker. The biggest amount of data storage in can handle is 256 GB. But do be aware: Like the A2, this model has no shuffle feature.

Can be used in wireless mode or wired (AUX - 3.5mm headphone jack). Wired is good for a number of reasons. Some people don't like to be bathed in Bluetooth frequencies all day (it can make some people feel sick) and night when the device is paired to something else, so using the speaker wired turns the Bluetooth off.

If you want to test this, try to pair the A1 to an external device, such as a Smartphone, to see if the speaker is available to be connected to in the list of devices available to be paired with. It shouldn't be in the list.

Wired also preserves the overall shelf life of the battery and makes sense if you're someone who sits at a desk on desktop computer or laptop. Also, worth pointing out, the Wave A1 can be used wirelessly with Bluetooth off if listening to music directly from an SD card, either out loud or with headphones plugged in. This is one of the main advantages of having an SD card slot, no external device is needed to play music.

Internal microphone can act as a handsfree for taking phone calls from a Smartphone. A Two-year warranty is included. Available in white or black. Great little bargain.

Neocore Wave A2 Review

Neocore Wave A2 Bluetooth speaker Review. If you've been on the hunt for reviews on this speaker, you'll no doubt have seen that there isn't many out there. Excluding Amazon of course. On Amazon UK there are lots of customer reviews on the product listing page. Strangely, I could not find even one video review which offered a sample / example of what the A2 is capable of. There's lots of video reviews for the A1, A3 and A4, but not for the A2.

However, with a rating on 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon, it's safe to say that the A2 is a good, capable wireless speaker. The main specification includes: 16 Watts, over 2+ days of playtime, Micro SD Card slot (max 256 GB), Various Equalizer options, AUX connection (3.5 mm headphone jack), USB charging port,  twin stereo drivers, subwoofer with extra bass, internal microphone which works as a handsfree for taking calls from your phone. And, to top it all off, it's also waterproof. Big bonus, and a superb feature for such a low-priced speaker.

Other features worth mentioning are: It comes with Bluetooth 4.2, which has a twenty-meter power range. The A2 can also be used as a wire speaker, which is perfect for people who want to hook the speaker up to a computer tower or laptop.  A 2-year warranty is included in the price. All in all, it's a good medium-sized Bluetooth speaker from a brand that has a very good reputation throughout their whole range of speakers (Neocore also produce and sell Tablet computers).

One downfall of the Neocore Wave A2 is that is does not have a shuffle option. Other than that it's a good speaker for the price. Good sound quality, very long battery duration, impressive spec and features, excellent reviews, and a considerably lengthy warranty

Anker Soundcore Motion+ Sale

An extremely versatile Bluetooth speaker with a great level of sound quality and depth. It even has customizble equalizer (EQ) settings. It's also waterproof (IPX7) and has a very long battery duration. This speaker is a great alternative to the Neocore Wave A4 (here). However, the Motion+ is not cheap. But the good news is, there's a little sale for this speaker right now.

You can save £10 when you buy this item on Amazon UK (available here). But, to be honest I would rather pay full price than buy it at the sale price and have to purchase the Amazon Classic Mastercard. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's basically a credit card. Nah, pay full price, or get a giftcard from somewhere to apply a small discount. Great speaker though. See a comparison video below.

Anker SoundCore Motion+ Vs JBL Charge 4

Neocore Wave A3.60 Speaker Review

Despite its small / medium size and cheap price, the Neocore Wave A3 certainly packs a punch where sound is concerned. These days Bluetooth speakers have been refined to the stage that whatever brand you are interested in buying, you will more than likely see that the big majority have excellent reviews. This is excellent, and it makes the buyer not have to be so concerned with worrying about reliability. Instead, they can focus more on features and sound quality. The good news is, the Wave A3.60 really does tick all the boxes. Or, for the price, most of them at least. Reliability is very good, and the sound quality has impressed many customers.

Neocore_Wave_A3_Speaker_Review_60

For the price it's a great Bluetooth speaker for those on a tight budget. It's packing two driver speakers (20 Watts) and a subwoofer, so 3 speakers in total. Bluetooth version is 4.2, and the connection have a maximum range of 20 meters. Pairing is easy, and the connection is considered as strong if kept within a respectable range. Battery life is one of the Wave A3's strongest features, lasting up to thirty hours with the volume level at a bit over 50%. The SD memory card slot (Micro) can hold an additional 256 GB of music. Check out the unboxing video review below for more information (and to hear the speaker in use).

Buy the Wave A3 from the official Neocore website

The internal microphone allows for hands-free control of a Smartphone, so calls received on a Smartphone can be routed through the speaker. Other features include a 3.5 mm headphone jack (AUX) (Wired) and a Micro-B USB port for charging the internal battery and connection to another device (laptop or desktop PC etc). A two-year warranty is also included in the price.

Any Issues / Problems worth reporting

As with any electric product, there are always a few issues report. It's extremely rare to find an electrical product that doesn't have a few customers that are not happy for whatever reason. With the Wave A3.60, and like many other Bluetooth speakers, there is no shuffle mode when playing music from the SD card. Other "problems" reported include a few customers unhappy with the sound quality and overall loudness of the speaker.

That includes the Bass, which some reviewers say isn't that great. However, these negative reviews are completely drowned out by the massive amount of positive reviews from buyers that are very impressed with the sound quality overall. If you're after something that's bigger and much louder than the Wave A3, the Neocore Wave A4 Tsunami (50 watts) (review found at the link) is well worth considering.

JBL Xtreme 2: How Many Speakers

A quick video: JBL Xtreme2 : How Many Speakers. Also: How to open the grill and take a look at the speakers inside. So, how many speakers does it have? Well, it looks like it has 2 tweeters, two drivers and two subwoofers. Making 6 speakers in total. It seems to be fairly easy to open up from the video. Although do take care not to damage the housing if you attempt to try this yourself. Hope you enjoy the video from SpeakerFanatic.
